Default Vent/Mic Issues

Just started using a new tower recently, when i log onto vent everything works fine, i can hear my guildees as well as the rest of gw sounds fine, but when i plug in my mic not only does my mic not work but the sound completely cuts out. ive got vista as an operating system, and two mics...one is a logictech headset which plugs into the usb drive...the other is a stand alone mic that plugs into the microphone jack...the problem occurs with both of these...as i am the usual tactics caller for my guild this is a bit of a problem....any and all help will be appreciated, thank you

Did you install the newest driver for your soundcard?

When you log onto Vent, in the settings, make sure its got your sound card selected, sounds like something is canceling it out.

Yeah I had a similar problem with vista, but when I went to the control panel, and then sound, I saw that it requires you to select what is being plugged into the mic/headphone outlets for it to work.

Was weird.
